கணனிகளை ஊடுருவி(hack) அதில் உள்ள தகவல்கள் கடவுச்சொற்கள் திருடுவது போல் (passwords) உங்கள் மூளையையும் ஊடுருவி அதில் உள்ள தகவல்களைத் திருடும் முறையை விஞ்ஞானிகள் உருவாக்கியுள்ளனர். இதற்கு $300 பெறுமதியான காது ஒலிவாங்கி (ear phone) போன்ற ஒரு கருவி போதுமானதாகும். நாம் அர்த்தமுள்ள ஒன்றைப் பார்க்கும் போது எமது மூளையில் இருந்து வெளிவரும் P300 சமிக்ஞைகளில் இருந்து தகவல்களைப் பெற முடியும்.

neuroscientists and cryptographers came up with an “unbreakable crypto” system that relied on implicit learning so your subconscious could remember a 30 character passphrase. However, the trick is that the password couldn’t be consciously recalled and obtained via “rubber hose attacks” meaning torture. The method relied on learning the password with a computer game similar to Guitar Hero, but that plants “a secret password in the participant’s brain without the participant having any conscious knowledge of the trained password.”

How do these brain-computer interfaces work?
BCI controllers sit on your head and read your brain's electrical activity with an electroencephalograph, or EEG. While the devices can't read your exact thoughts, hands-free controllers like the $300 product sold by Emotiv distinguish between two brain states: Relaxed and concentrating. Essentially, it's like playing a video game with only one button (which some players find underwhelming). BCIs also have medical applications, and are frequently used to gather neuro-feedback on things like sleep disorders, epilepsy, driver alertness, and more, says Death and Taxes' Pangburn.
