கைத் தொலைபேசிப் பாவனையாளர்கள் எதிர் நோக்கும் பெரிய பிரச்சனை அவசியமான நேரத்தில் பட்டரியில் வலு இல்லாமல் தவிப்பது. காதலியுடன் மணித்தியாலக் கணக்கில் பேசிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் போது காதலி நல்ல இசைவான நிலைக்கு வரும் வேளையில் பட்டரி காலை வாரி விட்டுவிடும். இந்தப்பிரச்சனைக்கு ஒருவர் விடை கண்டுள்ளார். கொக்க கோலா போன்ற இனிய பானங்களில் இயங்கும் பட்டரியைக் கண்டு பிடித்துள்ளார். டெய்சி செங் என்ற பெண் தனது இலண்டன் பல்கலைக் கழக பட்டப் படிப்பின் ஒரு பகுதியாக இந்தக் கருவியை வடிவமைத்துள்ளார்.

The bizarre idea could soon become reality after a designer produced a concept mobile phone that is powered by sugary soft drinks.
Daizi Zheng came up with the phone as part of her graduation project at Central St Martins college in London.
Her cylindrical design has a screw top at one end where you pour in the fizzy drink.
The bio battery, in theory, generates energy as glucose molecules in the cola drink are digested by enzymes, releasing hydrogen molecules.
Power, as in other fuel cells, is produced through a flow of electrons between a cathode and anode.
‘By using bio battery as the power source of the phone, it only needs a pack of sugary drink and it generates water and oxygen while the battery dies out,’ Zheng said.

Using a fuel-cell instead of a battery means the phone should actually run on any sugar-based soft drink, but photos from Inhabitat show the cylindrical-shaped handset being filled up with coke, with a screw-off top to easily add your lunchtime tipple.
