பிரித்தானியத் தொழிற் கட்சியின் மாநாட்டில் உரையாற்றிய தமிழரான சென் கந்தையா அவர்கள்பிரித்தானியாவில் மூன்று இலட்சம் தமிழர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள் என்றும் அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் தொழிற்கட்சிக்கே வாக்களிப்பார்கள் என்றும் கூறினார். பதினொரு ஆண்டுகளாக ஆட்சியில் இருக்கும் தொழிற்கட்சி தமிழர்களுக்கு என்னசெய்தது?
- உண்ணாவிரதம் இருந்த தயா இடைக்காடருக்கு அழித்த வாக்குறுதிகளை நிறவேற்றியதா?
- ஈழத் தமிழர் பிரச்சனை பற்றி எழுப்பிய போதெல்லாம் இலங்கை அரசு ஜனநாயக முறைப் படி தேர்ந்தெடுக்க்கப் பட்ட அரசு என்றும் விடுதலைப் புலிகள் பயங்கர வாத இயக்கம் என்று தொடர்ந்து கூறிவந்தது.
- இந்தியாவின் வற்புறுத்தலுக்கு இணங்க தமிழர்களின் விடுதலைப் போராட்டத்திற்கு சட்டபூர்வமாக பயங்கரவாத முத்திரை குத்தியது தொழிற்கட்சி அரசு.
- அத்துடன் நிற்காமல் ஐரோப்பிய ஒன்றியத்திலும் தமிழர்களின் விடுதலைப் போராட்டத்திற்கு பயங்கர வாத முத்திரை குத்தியது இதே தொழிற்கட்சி அரசு.
- இருதிங்களில் வன்னியில் அறுபதினாயிரம் மக்கள் கொல்லப் பட்ட போது எதுவுமே செய்யாதிருந்தது இதே தொழிற்கட்சி அரசுதான்.
இலங்கைக்கான GSP+ வர்த்தகச் சலுகையை பிரித்தானியா நினைத்திருந்தால் சென்ற ஆண்டே நிறுத்தியிருக்கலாம். இது பிரித்தானிய வர்த்தகத்தோடு சம்பந்தக்ப் பட்டது என்றபடியால் தொழிற்கட்சி அரசு எதுவும் செய்யவில்லை.
இந்த மாதமும் இலங்கைக்கான GSP+ வர்த்தகச் சலுகையை ஐரோப்பிய ஒன்றியம் இரத்துச் செய்யும் நடவடிக்கையை தொழிற்கட்சி செய்யாவிட்டால் தமிழர்கள் எல்லோரும் தொழிற் கட்சிக்கு எதிராக் கிளர்ந்து எழ வேண்டும்.

thambi, labour party leaders are ignorant and do not want to look at the history. they do not know what is demogracy. for,by and to the people. Vaddukkoddai resoultion and the election followed the resolution gave tigers democratic right to take up arms and fight for tamileelam because srilankan goverment failed to negotiate with TULF after the elction. Do the labour party know these? Does Sen Kandiak Know these facts? these people who support Labour party and say that Tamils would cast their votes are bunch of idiots
who gave sinhalese who illegally arrived in the island and accupy in Tamils land gave independance? Labour party. Did they go through history without looking fictions? ( they looked at mahavamsa and kulavamsa which were written in a language that has no relation with ceylon) Why did they fail to look continuity theory that prove this island seperated with its occupant in a natural disaster from wider dravidian kingdom covering australasia. Tamils are the native of island but given to sinhalese illegal immigrants. Did they look act 1799 proclamation beofre giving independance.We lost our land to portugese and the land went to sinhalese through dutch and englsh
To be fair,Sen Kandiah didn't say that all the Eelam tamils will vote labour party.
I listened to him on the BBC live programme,he said 'people asked me how many tamils are in Uk,I told them there are 300,000 tamils in the UK and they will all vote labour ' then he finished by saying that 'If we get our own way'.
what he implied was that the vote for labour is conditional.
I do agree that labour govt did lot of damage to Ealam tamil struggle by their actions,but these were done during the Blair years .Blair was more right wing than most of the other labour leaders and he was blindly supporting the Bush's slogan 'war against terrorism' which didn't differentiate the liberation movements from the real terrorist organisations .
Infact, lot of grass root labour menbers are genuine supporters of the oppressed and the suppressed people and many of them voice their support for the oppressed minorities all over the world.
I feel Eelam tamil community in UK should have a good relationship with all the main parties not just the Labour party but also Tory party and the liberal democrats to gain the support for our political cause.
